conch dumplings.
Ingredients.
Flour: 1/3 cup.
Buttermilk: 1/4 cup.
Baking powder: 1 tsp.
Celery: 2 stalks
Red pepper: 1/2
Green pepper: 1/2
Conch meat: 1 lb.
Self rising cornmeal: 1/3 cup.
Egg: 1
Onion: 1/2 of a large onion.
Hot sauce: 1/4 tsp.
Salt: .depends on your taste.
Oil, mayonaise and lime juice.
Cooking directions.
In a grinder or food processor, put onion, red pepper, celery, green pepper and conch. Process well together adding the egg and salt to your taste. In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal and baking powder. Add processed conch and mix well with buttermilk and hot sauce.
Now you should have a thick mixture in the bowl.
On stove top, pour a sufficent amount of oil in a large frypan. when oil is
hot, drop in pan conch mixture by heaping tablespoons. fry dumplings until light brown. When done, drain the oil and serve with lime juice and mayonaise.
